Orrville Area United Way is proud to partner with Salvation Army Orrville Maiwurm Service Center, supporting grants for two programs – Emergency Assistance and Seasonal Assistance. These programs contribute to our impact area of Helping in Hard Times. The mission of Orrville Salvation Army is “to assist those in need and, as much as possible, to empower them to solve their own problems and become productive members of society”.

Emergency Assistance impacts over 2,900 people within the Orrville, Dalton, & Marshallville area by helping to resolve emergencies specific to food insecurity, utility disconnection, eviction, medical transportation, necessary prescriptions, and clothing for the elements. Orrville Salvation Army provides funds or services which eliminate immediate emergencies and help stabilize families, allowing a family to use their monies to meet other necessary needs.

The purpose of the Seasonal Assistance program is to extend clients’ income that is designated for basic needs and to help increase student’s academic achievement and readiness by eliminating barriers to school necessities. Seasonal Assistance includes Angel Tree, Christmas Food Box, Back-to-School, Easter Food Box, Picnic Pack-of-Food, and Summer Camp-in-a-Bag. 70% of those served have a household income under $25,000.

We are grateful to support Orrville Salvation Army with your generous Orrville Area United Way donations! These programs provide emergency assistance to help individuals and families overcome barriers during a time of difficulty or hardship.
