Knowing that you need help is one thing. Finding someone who can help you is another. United Way's 2-1-1 connects you to resources such as rent and utility assistance, food, health-related services, homeless services, foreclosure information, senior services, family counseling, support groups, and parenting resources. Orrville Area United Way financially partners with United Way of Wayne & Holmes Counties to help those in our area access the resources they need.

Healthcare Help - Medicaid, Medicare, Marketplace
Need help with your medical coverage? Orrville Area United Way hosts Jillian Siedlecki, a trained Insurance Navigator with Charitable Healthcare Network & Viola Startzman Clinic, the second Thursday of each month, 9:00am-1:00pm. Jillian offers free, unbiased help with finding affordable health insurance to meet your health needs & budget. Drops in are always welcome, or appointments are available by calling the Viola Startzman Clinic at (330) 262-2500.

Hot Meal
Friendships Meals distributes a free hot meal the 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th Thursdays of each month from Christ United Church of Christ. There are no restrictions or requirements. There are many reasons that an individual or family may benefit from a hot meal - income, age, food access, work schedule, caretaker, health, exhaustion... Friendship Meals serves people from where ever their need is. Currently, Friendship Meals has the capacity to serve 200 meals, first come first serve. Last year, 6,811 meals were distributed to our community. Curbside service begins at 5:15pm.

Wayne County Transit
Wayne County Transit offers door to door transportation, anywhere within Wayne County, for $2.50 one-way. Depending on financial situation, vouches may be available. There is an initial set-up process, and a 3 day lead time is currently required.

Free Tax Filing
The Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program offers free tax preparation for families with household incomes generally less than $60,000, persons with disabilities, the elderly, and limited English speaking tax-payers who need assistance in preparing their own tax returns. IRS-certified volunteers provide free basic income tax return preparation with electronic filing to qualified individuals.
Home Repair & Weatherization
The Home Weatherization Assistance Program (HWAP) assists income qualified individuals lower their energy usage. The HWAP program may be able to provide a new energy efficient furnace, new hot water tank, insulation, new refrigerator, repair safety issues, and/or LED lightbulbs to Wayne County residents.
