Orrville Area United Way is proud to partner with the Orrville Branch of the YMCA. The mission of the Orrville YMCA is to “to build a healthy spirit, mind, and body for all our families”. Their vision is that they build strong kids, strong families, and a strong community. OAUW supports the Orrville YMCA’s School Age Child-Care Program. This program contributes to OAUW’s impact area of Nurturing Children & Youth.

The Orrville YMCA School Age Child-Care Program serves youth ages 5-15. Weekly lesson plans are created that cover quiet time, snack time, arts, technology, music, and gross-motor activities while also working with each individual student on their personal activity plans. This past year, the Orrville YMCA increased their availability of care to the 11-14 age group, and they have seen an increase in the number of teens involved in their program. They also partnered with Smithville Elementary School to offer Before & After School programming, added weekly youth sports and fitness classes that take place at Wayne College, and increased their Summer Camp quality by adding more field trips and experiences. The Orrville YMCA provides childcare programming even on Snow Days, which is a huge benefit to many families!

The Orrville YMCA continues to grow partnerships within our community. They collaborate with OABGC to offer Girls on the Run and provide accessibility to swimming, and Viola Startzman to offer a dental class during their Summer Camp. Orrville YMCA provides a location for OHuddle to host a field trip for their students and volunteers, and they provide fundraising and supply donations to both NAMI and the Orrville Salvation Army.

Your generous Orrville Area United Way donations directly impact lives and homes in our area!
